AYU SEWING PROJECT

Helping low income families one stitch at a time

Many Indonesian mothers struggle in poverty, bound by cultural norms that keep them from working.

AYU (Ah-U), meaning "beautiful" in Javanese, embodies the heart of Ayu Sewing Project. Mothers are empowered to earn a regular income from home. They can now take their families out of financial hardship and create a brighter future for themselves and their children.

Through AYU, mothers with young children can balance their work and family responsibilities. They are given the opportunity to learn a new skill and to build a life filled with hope and possibilities.
